In Which Mark Fails to Compose Anything
Mar. 31st, 2004 12:48 amHave spend the last 2.5 hours in Lang, failing spectacularly to compose anything for my meeting with Jerry tomorrow. I've got a few snippets and scraps that maybe can be expanded on the train tomorrow, we'll see. About the only nifty thing I was able to do was figure out how to play a deck of cards. Yes, a deck of cards. Clubs = 1 beat, Diamonds 2, Hearts 3, Spades 4. Choose a slow tempo. Aces are rests. 2 corresponds to middle C, chromatically ascending through the ranks to King at B above middle C. Jack is A440. I've gotten to the point where I can pretty much do this in real time - flip the cards with my left hand, play with the right. Whee!
Hmm...I've not been sleeping well of late. Should remember to sleep more. (If I had been sleeping more, I'd probably have remembered to write this the first time I made this post)
