The cast (actually, it was two U-shaped things) is gone, replaced by a "fracture boot", which is foam and plastic and velcro. It has several distinct advantages over the previous arrangement. 1. It's lighter. 2. I can take it off to wash. 3. It's adjustable. 4. I can wear a sock under it (which made leaving the hospital much more pleasant than entering, given today's weather) 5. It's lighter. I go back in four weeks (just after classes start), I've been told to bring a shoe to that appointment. I'm back home now, find me online as necessary/desired.
