Cups 1, Mark 0
Feb. 21st, 2005 02:03 pmStarted the cup drill at PT this morning. The cup drill is as follows:
It's rough. I could do it, but it wasn't pretty, and many times I needed to catch my balance by putting the other leg on the ground. Still, it's better than the throw-and-catch drill, which involves standing on one leg on an inflatable disc that doesn't provide rigid support while tossing a football back and forth with someone. I'm not sure I could do that on my good leg. The SI I read in while in the whirlpool says that Brandi Chastain does the same drill, but kicking the ball instead of catching and throwing it.
- Get 6 paper cups
- Get on 3' diameter trampoline
- Stand on bad leg
- Bend down and put a cup on edge of trampoline and straighten up
- Repeat until all 6 cups are down
- Bend down, pick up a cup, and straighten up
- Repeat until all 6 cups are back in your hands
