An anecdote:

One Monday night, I went out looking for Star Trek VI for SWIL movie. The first place I tried didn't have it. The second place I tried called another place, which said they also didn't have it, but that it was being shown at Swarthmore that night, if I just wanted to watch it there instead. "Uh...I'm running that showing." SWIL movie reaches farther than you might think.

Uh-oh. I'm getting picky. The Palestrina I downloaded last night was too fast and used an organ. No good, I found the organ very distracting - it gave the music a tonal center I'm used to it not having (this is one of the reasons I like the stuff). The Saint-Saens, however, is awesome (and I'm likely to be less picky about).

I still haven't gotten used to Gabrieli with strings. It just isn't right. It should be vocal, organ, or brass. Strings don't have the proper reverance/resonance for music like that.
