A seven-hour day with a half-hour commute is much better than an eight hour day with an hour commute. Who knew?

And yes, this even applies if you can't find the building where training is supposed to be, park your car on a slope covered in ice, and have to walk through the office complex (because you can't move your car) to find the training facility, ending up fifteen minutes late (they hadn't started yet though).
