Jun. 7th, 2006 10:29 pmIt's PBS fund-drive season, and that means there's usually nifty stuff on TV. I'm watching a bit about the making of Bruce's new album, The Seeger Sessions. It's pretty cool stuff, but oversinging is a problem in folk music, and Bruce oversings most of the time on this album, if not in general (but it's much more forgiveable in rock). Between this and it being on the Sony label, I won't be picking up this album, though I'd still consider it if it weren't on Sony.
Otherwise musically, the lineup for 'XPN's weekend in late July pretty much blows consistantly across the board. I'm still looking at a couple of the Upper Merion shows (Dar & Terri Hendrix 6/25, most notably), a few free shows in Exton (Lori McKenna & Mark Erelli 8/22), and more - I'll try and keep you informed.
