Boston singer-songwriter Kris Delmhorst's latest album is lyrically based on the works of well known poets, including Lord Byron, ee Cummings, and Walt Whitman. The first track is based on Robert Browning's 'A Toccata of Galuppi's". But she read the poem ignoring punctuation, and didn't fact check, and we're left with the song 'Galuppi Baldassarre'. Oops.
Anyway, I'm looking for other songs that use classical composers, preferable as the focus, but name-dropping is ok. I've got two others - the first verse of Rhett Miller's 'Our Love' uses Richard Wagner as a main character, and Cake mentions Verdi in 'Opera Singer'. What else?
