Hey all. Thanks for the sympathy.

Somewhere in the vicinity of 8 PM EDT last night (5/16/2007) my inflamed appendix was removed at Paoli hospital. I was discharged around 11:30 AM EDT today (5/17/2007). I am at my parents' place resting and recovering - the incision has consistently hurt more than my appendix did (apparently, I was lucky in this regard). I'm not doing any lifting anytime soon, nor am I driving for the next week or so.

At some point (maybe even later today), I'll post a full timeline, as best as I can recollect, and maybe get an AIM client installed around here somewhere.

I'll try to keep my phone on if I'm awake, but no guarantees.

The tale )

So that's where I stand. There's a roughly 1.5" incision on my right side (according to the doc, I haven't seen it yet - the bandage can come off tomorrow) which can hurt lots, depending what I'm trying to do. I tend to be in the least pain when my torso is upright, but this is somewhat inconvenient for lying in bed, etc. It can be really stiff when I first get up to walk, but it loosens up a little bit. I don't quite walk like a zombie, but it's not normal either. And shifting positions in bed is just plain ugly.

But I'm in one piece, and presumably on the road to recovery. Discussions of visiting hours can begin tomorrow.
