Hot time, summer in the city
Aug. 1st, 2011 08:28 pmIn Chinatown, I passed a Thai? Bakery with a help wanted sign poster. In Spanish.
Heading around the northeast corner of city hall, I could faintly make out the strains of "O Fortuna", which was the perfect soundtrack for the guy running towards me trying to beat the light. As I got closer to the temporary stage erected north of Dilworth Plaza, Orff was replaced by Michael Jackson, and an impersonator started dancing on stage.
In Suburban Station, I was treated to a rendition of "Imagine" performed by a guy wearing blue jeans, an oversized top hat, and a scraggly Abe Lincoln beard.
