X-rays reveal my left ankle is broken. The little bone is displaced by about 2 mm, this is the maximum distance that can be solved with a cast. However, to avoid the chance of it moving out to 3 mm or more and to ensure that all the ligaments heal (especially on the other side (the inside)), I'm going under the knife tomorrow afternoon to have a plate and screw put in to make sure things heal properly. The heal time is the same either way, 6-12 weeks total, 4-6 with the brace/cast. I think what I'll have is a brace that goes up almost to my knee, I don't know about a cast. I'm at home tonight and tomorrow night, beyond that will depend on recovery and how I respond to general anesthesia - I'm hoping to be back at Swarthmore by Thursday midday to study for my E57 exam friday morning, but that may get pushed back to Monday if I'm not feeling so hot Thursday and Friday. I'm also thinking about possibly taking an Incomplete in 19th Century and writing the final paper over break, but I'll see about getting it done on time if possible.

E57 Problem Set (by end of exam period)
E57 Final (either Friday or Monday morning)
ESE554 (UPenn) Paper (nominally tomorrow, not going to happen)
ESE554 Problem Set (Friday)
ESE554 Final (next Thursday morning)
Music 15 Final Paper (next Thursday)
Music 22 Final Paper (nominally Thursday, not going to happen)
Music 22 Final Exam (nominally next Thursday, maybe next Friday instead)
Music 10 Final Project (next Wednesday)

This seems theoretically doable, but we'll see

Also, remember that your health comes before work for now, and your profs will certainly be sympathetic in giving you an incomplete, cause papers written on pain medication might be funny, but probably less than ideal. (:

Best of luck!

If it makes you feel any better, the Music 22 paper is now due Monday, and the exam is due sometime from Thursday morning to Friday at 4:00.

That helps muchly - except I've tentatively pushed my other paper back to Monday and may have an exam to take that morning. Whee!

Erk. Well, don't worry about the Music 10 thing, at least, as I'm sure Elizabeth and I can take care of the research...

And I don't even have the heart to mock you. ::pats::

Yeah, anyone who makes you do stuff when you can't do stuff is just asking for it anyway.
