Since it was a friendslocked post (and not Google-searchable), I'd say your only crime is corrupting Finlay by tempting her to join the chat list. And now I'm guilty of that too.

(Honestly, I don't see what the big deal is. Spam will always exist, the address is already out there, and spam filters work just fine--I see maybe one in one hundred spams to the chat list.)
