Today's Foxtrot reminded me of the end of Sophomore year. We had to write a fugue exposition and a two-part invention, and for one of them, I forget which, I flirted with trying to get the ice cream truck song to work. I'm pretty sure it was the two part invention. Needless to say, it didn't work. But, looking at it again, I think it might make for an interesting fugue subject...

That phrase looks freakishly similar to one of the jigs that I've played for Folk Dance. Then again, there's a high enough volume of dance tunes that such an occurrence is not only likely, but even expected.

That's hilarious... I can't get that damn jingle out of my head! How bout the second part?

I tried putting them together (with the first part repeated) and it... sort of works.

What program are you using for notation?

Finale... I find the interface kind of unintuitive, but it's what's used at my school. What about you?

The Kingsessing Morris Men wrote a dance to this tune (the tune is very slightly modified). It's our tribute to Philadelphia's greatest cultural icons--the Mister Softie tune and new dance figures all inspired by the Three Stooges schtick.
