So I had this bizarre dream before waking up this morning. I was riding the London Underground. Well, it was sort of hard to tell, but for some reason I knew it was. The platforms, though, were much more like the regional rail platforms here. Anyway, I got on the train. Or at least I thought I did. I then found myself running along the train, from station to station, trying to get on. Eventually I did. The train pulled into a station, and I may or may not have seen a green sign indicating trains to Lechmere (the terminal of the green line in Boston). The train then pulled out of the station in the same direction it came in, but went on different track (only in my twisted dreams would a station be built on a wye). The other thing is that the big appeal of the train ride (at least for some people) is that they were broadcasting a live Pink Floyd concert on the train loudspeaker system, apparently this was some big annual event. It was very strange, and I'm not sure what to make of it.

You're just strange. I haven't dreamed at all since being here and I'm waking up (voluntarily) by 9:30am. Talk about weird.

That sounds like such a mundane dream to recieve the title "Strangest Dream," even as a figure of speech.

I once had a dream about an elevated subway line running up the Brooklyn coast from Brooklyn Heights to 59th street, then downtown through midtown Manhattan to 14th street and 7th avenue.

I like the phrase "Brooklyn coast" -- it makes it sound so much larger than it actually is. :-)

I've already told you this in person, but for those following along at home, SFO station on BART is built on a wye. So, for that matter, is the station on the other end of that wye, Millbrae.

But yeah, strange dream. London Underground to Lechmere? That's gonna mean a fare hike for someone...

Yeah - I remember seeing that on the BART maps when I was out there last month. Though it looks like they don't run through trains on the Wye, they either run from the rest of the system to Millbrae, Millbrae to SFO, or system to SFO. Through trains would just be ridiculous.

Yeah, London to Lechmere would be cool. It's like something out of Neverwhere or something. Fun if it were feasible, though I'm not sure I'd want to make it in either an underground car or a T car.

You were saying?

Yes, this is going to be implemented.

Speaking of Neverwhere, is there any system in the US that has station names such that Neverwhere-style inhabitants or events could be found there? I'm coming up blank on possibilities.
