I had an E as the third letter. My first thoughts were THEM and THEY. I got another letter and figured out that it was FOES. I like my answers better.

Yeah. I seem to have accidentally convinced my dad to start doing Mondays diagramless (if you download them, you can get any of them that way).

Why would you do that? Then it's like taking a quiz instead of doing a puzzle.

No, you still do the puzzle. It's just that you have to fill in the black squares and the numbers yourself, in addition to the letters. Fun. I did the one that the Times publishes as such a couple of Sundays ago. It basically adds a logic puzzle element to it.
