The local library has a very strange music collection. The rock and country sections are completely random, there's some really good stuff and some steaming piles. The classical section is similar, with some things better represented than others. I came away with a pretty good pull earlier this evening, picking up Hollywood Town Hall (Jayhawks), Wrecking Ball (Emmylou Harris), Zauberflote, a great looking session with Steve Earle, Townes Van Zandt, and Guy Clark, two of the Dolly Parton bluegrass albums, and more.

yeah, norristown's is similarly strange, but the fact that you can order from other libraries makes up for it.

Yeah, I can draw from all of Chester County, I'm just sure it's worth it. I get what's there, and if they don't have it, I'll find it someplace else.

I suspect that this is due to having a small music budget and no music librarian, so they just wind up with a random selection of what they felt like getting. Or possibly they even have no music budget at all, and rely on donations, which might make it even stranger.
