Update

Laptop has officially kicked the bucket. Is not booting. Sits there grinning like an idiot on power-on, ten seconds later spins up the hard drive, but there's no activity. The screen does nothing. I suspect that the hard drive is fine, so once I get a new machine I'll crack it open and get data off. That being said, I backed up three weeks ago to reinstall, and I don't think there's anything I need to get off of the old hard drive. Except the Excel file of the train bracket. Which you should vote in.

I'll be researching parts and placing orders no later than Monday. I'll build Rev. A0 of the machine with haste, then revise it (swap out HSF, case fan, power supply as necessary) to quiet the beast, as necessary. I'll post pictures when they're relevant.

For the interim, I'll be hopping computers throught the house and running most things on k4pacific. X-forwarding is nice, though non-ideal for many things. I suspect I'll be on my mother's computer the most, and I've dropped a portable firefox with chatzilla. I think that BSW just won't happen over the next week, but we'll see.

Being able to run Thunderbird means I'll be better about reading e-mail, but no guarantees I actually reply to anything. As always, call to reach me.

After leaving this comment, I'm deleting this, so as to prevent my e-mail address from floating out in the world. Either today or tomorrow is fine, and yes, at Oaks - give me a call sometime this afternoon and we'll figure something out.
