It was quite a sight. To get the carpet into the apartment, we (my dad, my brother, and I) used two shopping carts. The front end of the rolled-up carpet went inside the shopping cart through the back flap, the second card went under the middle of the rug, and then we pushed/pulled/steered/etc. as necessary to get the rug to the elevator. Where, with much grunting, groaning, and heaving, we pushed each carpet in. Remember kids, 13'x19' rolled carpet is really heavy - make sure you have the proper equipment to move it (and yes, I'm talking about the shopping carts).

Shopping carts: They move carpets and alcohol, and they can be moved by car when necessary!

That's about how much carpet I had in my room, senior year (it didn't cover the whole floor). I still remember how heavy it was when my mother and I carried it up the stairs of Parrish... Luckily, Myrt had moved me from the huge room on the 4th floor to the big room on the 2nd floor--fewer stairs and less carpet.
