Wow. Ryan Howard just hit what's probably the longest home run I've ever seen - onto Ashburn Alley over the brick batter's backdrop in dead center field - 496' according to the broadcast.

Earlier, Dan Iassogna blew a call at first base and ended up tossing Utley and Manuel. LA was complaining about the call and umpires in general, describing the call as 'something he can't say'. Harry Kalas, of all people, asked whether the word of choice had the same initials as high school. I didn't expect that out of Harry.

HDTV is pretty cool.

When Howard gets all of it, it's really something to see. Still. Ashburn Alley? On the fly?!? Holy crap...

Is there a worse umpire in the majors than Dan Iassogna?

Yeah, over the right part of the brick batter's eye, between "Area" and the bullpens on this (http://philadelphia.phillies.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/phi/ballpark/cbp_seating_diagram.jsp) diagram.

Iassogna is pretty bad.
