I'd be interested in the Appel Farm if I weren't planning on being insanely jet-lagged on the 3rd; as it is, I'm interested in the Dar concert.

Jet lag, schmet lag. Sitting out in the sun all day is a great way to combat jet lag.

Driving from D.C. to Philly by myself: perhaps not such a great way to combat jet lag. I'll be heading that way on the 4th or 5th in order to get to my REU, which is at Penn State.

It always surprises me how far west Baltimore and DC are. Happy valley is almost due north of DC, and DC to State College is only 30 miles & 1/2 hour further than Swat to State College. If you're dropping by to catch the end of alumni weekend, go for it, otherwise just drive straight up.

Do tickets to the thingy need to be purchased in advance, or could I buy one day-of? If I could buy one day-of I could just see how jet-lagged I actually feel...(I'd really like to see Richard Thompson live!)

Day-of tickets cost more, but exist. Something like $35 for students.

Richard Thompson!

Amusingly, I *heard* of Toad the Wet Sprocket for the first time a few days ago. Haven't heard any of them yet though.

I don't know anything about them, though I've heard of them before.

Wait a minute I didn't think you guys were quite that young, how could you not know Toad?
They weren't really a favorite of mine but they did get a lot of airplay.
Anyway I saw them back at Drexel at the Armory in like 95? Google couldn't tell me the date easily. Yeah I guess that was awhile ago.
I feel old now.

And yes the name is from monty python.

Well, we may not be that young, but I didn't really actively start listening to anything current until about 2000 (I listened to jazz through most of high school; while I've grown to appreciate the music of the early 90s (I completely missed the boat on Nirvana, for example), I missed it the first time around). Also, TtWS formed in '86 when Glen Philips was all of 14 (and I was all of 3). I suspect I know something of their's, but I won't place it until I hear it.

Can I see Terri without Dar?

Yes. But I suspect the hordes of people that you know who go will make you stay.
