In playing through The Incredible Machine, I discovered a different solution to the puzzle in which you are required to get the baseballs but not the tennis balls into the walled-off section on the right using pistols. The standard solution, of course, is to use the bowling balls and see-saws to fire the pistols, which you have painstakingly aimed to shoot the baseballs into the proper section. I devised a solution in which only one of the guns fired, but the baseballs bounced off the guns (which had been strategically placed beneath the baseballs) and into the proper section.

The game didn't recognize it.

I went back to square one and set it up to shoot the baseballs. I'm a little dissapointed.

Are you playing the old classic Incredible Machine, or is there a new (or dare I hope online?) version?

Old classic. Available from The Underdogs (http://www.the-underdogs.info/game.php?gameid=537) (abandonware).

Two steps ahead of you. Unfortunately, the crack file that makes the game work is corrupted.

The game didn't recognize it because you did it the wrong way. :P

Get back in that box!

Hmm perhaps I never played the original original incredible machine. But in whatever version I played (probably around 1994-1995 on a mac), we always prided ourselves on finding random solutions that worked. And I never remember any issues where it would not recognize it as being solved.
Has anyone tried EETS. Looks interesting.
