So I walk into the barber shop.

"Are you Mark?"
"...yes..."
"Joe (I don't remember the guy's name) is ready for you."

This puzzles me.

"I, uh, didn't call ahead or anything"
"Oh. That sometimes happens with Johns or Jims. Have a seat, if he doesn't show in a few minutes you can go."

Mark showed up a few minutes later.

Also, it seems the heat here works. Which is good. I've discovered why I tend to disbelieve the thermostat - my room is warm, and the thermostat is in the hall, which is cooler. I don't really need heat back here, but it was getting cold elsewhere.

My room is the warmest in our house. I love it.

Sure. I'm part polar bear, and prefer it colder. Having the warm room means I'm less likely to put on a sweatshirt or fleece, and just wander around in a T-shirt.

Once upon a time, [livejournal.com profile] q10 and I kept the thermostat turned as cold as it could go, and occasionally cracked a window in the middle of February.

Were you possibly sleeping in the same bed? That often leads to opening windows in February.

We weren't. Occasionally [livejournal.com profile] q10 would bake a pie, but not all *that* frequently.
