Dec. 29th, 2007 01:08 amHome from New Haven. The trip involved four railroads, two subway lines, and eight different trains. Those who are so inclined can try and figure out what happened, the rest of you can just read under the cut.
I've really noticed myself adding -tastic to nouns over the last few days. I blame

Metro North from Milford to GCT, Shuttle and 7th Ave (2) to Penn Station. Spend a half hour trying to find Brendan in Penn Station at 5 PM on a Friday (his cell phone wasn't working). Back on the 7th Ave/Eastern Parkway (2) to Irene's place, have dinner, Eastern Parkway/7th Ave (2) back to Penn Station. NJT to Trenton (Brendan gets off in New Brunswick). No time to purchase ticket in Penn Station, but they don't charge me for anything on the train. Of course, SEPTA didn't hold at Trenton - the NJT conductor I spoke to said they haven't been holding at all lately. So, since I was facing an hour-and-a-half wait (and a return home much later than I wanted) and I hadn't yet purchased a ticket for any travel south of NYP, I poked the Quik-Trak and found that Amtrak from TRE to PHL wasn't much more expensive than the combined NJT and SEPTA fares. So I hopped the 11 PM regional and arrived at 30th St. a minute or two later than I would have had I made the R7.
Even better, I got bi-level coaches on NJT and an HHP-8 on Amtrak.
Loot from New Haven arrives tomorrow. I should straighten my room and find a place for all the stuff. But not now.
