May. 23rd, 2008 05:40 pmI suspect some of you out there will like these more than I do, but they're pretty neat.
* In 2004, the Buffaloes and the Blue Wave merged to form one team and a new team, the Golden Eagles, was formed to fill their place in the league. The Buffaloes were the only team before '04 to not win within the last 30 years, and the Golden Eagles are yet to win. But even if you drop the number to 10/12 (83%) or 11/13 (85%), NPB is still way out in front.
Also note that the NBA champs in '78 and '79 (Washington and Seattle) have not won a championship since then, and the four remaining teams in the playoffs this year have collectively won eighteen (and Chicago has won six of the other ten). The NBA number is going to drop to 9 (30%) no matter which of the four teams win this year.
The NHL number will not change after this season and the recent ManU victory in UEFA did not change its number.
