Apr. 3rd, 2009 06:45 pmMark Erelli opened. The person in front of me didn't show up for the opener, so I could use the seat back to stabilize the camera. It helped some, but not that much.
At the end of the night, Mark came back on stage to join Josh Ritter and band for a few songs. I wish this had come out a little better, but you get a good sense of Josh's energy (he looked like a sixteen year-old who was still figuring out his body that was six inches taller than it was a few months ago). Note the drummer's face - he also tended to be singing along (without a mic).
Clearly, I need a better camera.
I definitely noticed that, when I was focusing on taking pictures, I didn't enjoy the music as much. It's something I will continue to only do sparingly at concerts in the future, preferably during songs I don't know and/or love.
Here is a recording of a show from a few nights earlier. "Another New World" is new and required listening.
