1) Why should I care?
2) I don't text message. Is there still a point?
3) What's the best internet-based way to follow?
EDIT: Just telling me no doesn't accomplish anything. Telling me why I shouldn't want anything to do with twitter is much more productive. Telling me what you use Twitter for is also productive.

3) Sub-cranial electrode graft. Barring that, probably the web-page, which has some of the most adorable error images ever.

3) I am a big fan of twitterfox, a firefox addon that sits in the bottom right and counts how many new tweets I have to read. It does have a little pop up when a new tweet comes in, but you can turn it off.

3. Like Eliza said, RSS.

Date: 2009-04-17 01:14 am (UTC)2. Yes. I don't get text messages from Twitter, just read on my computer, though sometimes I text TO Twitter or use an iPhone client.
3. Do clients count as Internet-based? A client, then. Which one depends on OS.

Date: 2009-04-17 01:49 am (UTC)Also, yeah, I really can't be bothered to listen to y'all's boring asses for longer than it takes to read, say, your post above. 140 characters is about the limit to how much as I can make it through before I stop caring.

Date: 2009-04-17 02:56 am (UTC)Not that I don't twitter-spam sometimes.

Date: 2009-04-17 03:07 am (UTC)2) Yes. I know very few people who use the texting interface. Most Twitter addicts have a net-enabled phone with a Twitter client when they're mobile.
3) Spaz is a decent AIR client; Tweetdeck or DestroyTwitter let you group people, if you're following too many.
You shouldn't use Twitter if you're easily distracted, or tend to lose yourself in information overload.

Date: 2009-04-17 02:01 pm (UTC)2. Probably. But that seems like a good indication you'd probably find it annoying. (My complete lack of interest in Twitter stems from a similar space.)
3. RSS will probably be the most transparent addition to your extant routine, but I have no first hand experience. See parenthetical comment above.
