Only 3 Innings

Went to Citizens Bank Park this afternoon. The rain and wind and cold was unbearable. The start was delayed for about an hour, they played three frames, then the rain really picked up and they brought out the tarp again. At this point, we bailed, and I'm pretty glad we did. I could have stayed and taken the train home, but it was cold and wet, and they're only now in the bottom of the fifth, so it wasn't worth it.

The park itself is gorgeous. I didn't do much exploring, just huddling and shivering (we were in 429, just under the canopy in the 12th row, so we got some shelter from the rain, but the wind was blowing from right field to left field, and so we got a good deal of wind blown rain. Folks, those seats up there down the left field line are pretty nice (Terrace deck 429-434), we should get those seats when we go later in the year. Dollar dog days on 6/28 (Montreal), 7/5 (Mets), 8/9 (Rockies) are all dollar dog nights. They're all Mondays, but they'd be good nights to go, because (gasp) the food would be at a reasonable price those nights.

Yeah, I'd probably come too if you go (at least if it's either June 28 or July 5, since I'll be gone by August 9).

Count me in as well... sounds lovely. Mmmm, unhealthy stadium food.

Yeah, the wind really goes right through that place -- it's a good idea to bring a jacket even on a nice day, expecially if it's a night game or you're sitting in the shade.

I'd be interested in a game sometime, too, though it'd be nice if they had tofu dogs so I could actually eat the cheap food. Unfortunately I'll be out of town when the Mets are in.
