10 LET ENTRY41142 = JERSEY

Went down to Swat/ML last night to watch the Eagles game. My god the TV they put in the lounge is huge. 56" of mind-rotting goodness. So big that we had the game and the olympics on in split screen mode (yes, it can do that) and each picture was still bigger than the old ML TV. This is, of course, a very good thing. The only problem is I'm not sure if \we'll be able to move it for RLGL/wink. Oh well, we'll figure something out.

At halftime, with nothing better to do, I decided to meet up with [livejournal.com profile] neverseenbleu et al for bowling in Jersey, dragging along [livejournal.com profile] ccommack, [livejournal.com profile] showergrrl, [livejournal.com profile] uncleamos, Josh, and Carl. The insanity began when it was realized that in order for [livejournal.com profile] uncleamos et al to not drive back to Swarthmore, both of their cars and my car needed to go to Jersey. It was determined that I am not a good caravan leader. The bits where Josh was actually leading the caravan and the call I got around the airport saying Baker was closed didn't help matters. We all got there in one piece, though at one light Josh and Carl got out of their car, ran back, pounded on Chris's car, then hopped back in their car just as the light was about to turn.

In the parking lot, the road rage was released. I pull into a space, Josh pulls into a space, Chris starts to pull into a space, realizes there's a shopping cart in the space, and pulls into the space. Josh pulls out of his space, loops around the lot, and also hits the shopping cart. Twice, as I recall.

At any rate, the bowling happens. For being out of practice (I don't know how long it's been) I bowl a possible personal best of 145 (thanks to a strong finish: /-X-X7/ in 8-10). I know I bowled higher that night when the scoring machine was malfunctioning at Baker, but I'm not sure I've ever gotten that high other times.

We then hit a diner (because that's what you do in Jersey) and were reasonably well behaved, even though we were in the back in the "freak room" at Crystal. I am able to consistently get home from swat in 25 minutes on the back roads, which is good.

Played a game of Power Grid (aka Funkenschlag) on BSW with [livejournal.com profile] uncleamos this, uh, afternoon. I like. A lot.

It's [livejournal.com profile] kid_prufrock's old room, if that helps with the scale at all.

If it doesn't work right, I can always swing the bookshelf around 90 degrees for an easy fix, or start all over again for a hard one.

There were also all of the times Josh backed his car into us...

I noticed that once when we were about to get on the Blue Route. Why?

Why? Why has he been doing that for years? Why did he ram the shopping cart at speed twice? Why is he allowed to drive?

These are all good questions, and they can all be probably be answered with "because you're not in charge."

I hope the nice new TVs survive the general public good abuse that is so prevalent at Swat...

Yeah - someone was thoughtful (sorta) and attached the ML remote to the coffee table thingy. This is somewhat, but not entirely useful.

We should do that sort of thing more often.

And now that we'll have cars...we can...(but would it be the same without Josh)?

It might be less stressful without Josh.
