Sep. 4th, 2004 10:30 amI owe y'all an update, don't I?
Moved in okay, week of classes went well. Op Research is neat stuff. 19th with Barbara is going to be fun - listening to the Eroica Thursday she did a marvelous (and entertaining) pantomiming of the fear one feels in listening to it. 15 with Joel should be good too - I think that may be a function of the small class size - I wonder if I would have enjoyed 13/14 a bit more if there were smaller classes?
Penn, on the other hand, is still up in the air. I called them yesterday and they said that I couldn't take engineering courses (um...what about last semester?). I talked to Siddiqui and Martin Warner, who both said that people had taken engineering classes in the past. I won't say anything more about what Martin said because his e-mail, in big letters, said CONFIDENTIAL. DO NOT FORWARD OR PRINT. But I'm going to keep trying.
My games order came in, and there was much goodness. Last night played Power Grid, I'm the Boss and Transamerica x2. Won Power Grid convincingly - my network size went 5-8-12-15 in the last four turns (5 player game). I'm the Boss was all sorts of fun, though not nearly as rowdy as my game at GenCon. Ye gods, I won a game of Transamerica (having lost my others), but I returned to my mediocre ways in game 2.
Swat net access continues to blow goats, with web pages taking just short of forever to load. At least my Fedora torrent is almost done downloading - I'd like to get my linux partition functional sometime soon, just on principle.
