Wild Goose Chase
Nov. 16th, 2004 01:26 amMy afternoon and evening consisted of the following
With regards to Blockbuster, why don't they carry ST: VI? Wouldn't it make sense for stores to be able to query each other's stock? If I'm looking for a movie, they have to call the store in question and ask if they have it. I also think the clerk at that store has to go look on the shelf to see if the movie is there/in. This doesn't strike me as an efficient solution.
At any rate, as the Media Blockbuster clerk was calling the other Blockbusters to try and find the movie, he mentions to me that, by coincidence, the movie is showing at Swarthmore tonight. I mention to him that this is why I'm trying to rent it. It brought a little levity to an otherwise unfunny situation, since I had someplace I wanted to be at 8 and work I was planning to do before then (which, I should point out, I was going to do after the game, but instead look what I'm doing).
In other news, harmonics on the piano rock. As does playing "slide piano" with drinking glasses.
- Get back from Penn. Walk to Papazian.
- Get file and sandpaper from Smitty. Start polishing TBP bent.
- Keep polisihing bent until Smitty is about to go home.
- Go to Underhill. Do Sibelius reading. Theoretically leave Nalgene there. Should have put name on it.
- Go home. Go plop in
showergrrl's comfy leather chair. - Waste some time on internet/playing bridge against the bots.
- Drive
meanfreepath to PHL for his flight to a physics thingy. - Drive to Haverford Public Library to return Alice Through the Looking Glass.
- Drive to Media Blockbuster to rent Star Trek VI.
- Discover that Blockbuster doesn't carry Star Trek VI. This is bad. More details below.
- On advice of Blockbuster clerk, go to PrePlayed in Springfield. Buy ST: VI for $5.
- Get back to campus just in time to by munchies at Kohlberg before Crumb concert.
- Enjoy Crumb concert.
- Go to SC101 just in time to give Marie ST: VI.
- Go to Mertz. Bang on front door. Do not get let in.
- Go to New Dorm. Walk right in, find
uncleamos et al watching game. - Go plop on chair/couch.
- Order Cheng Hing.
- Enjoy Cheng Hing and watch the Eagles destroy them Cowboys. Did I mention that Dallas Sucks?
