So I'm watching CN8's live music show, and they've got the Polyphonic Spree. These guys are weird. There's like 25 guys on stage in long red robes, and they're all jumping up and down and doing all sorts of strange stuff. There's a guy standing with his back to the audience holding a french horn over his head, there's an old dude in a tricorner hat and a beard with a big bell. The pomp and circumstance of the thing is utterly absurd. The crowd is totally into it, there's a tent revival feel to the whole thing, or something. Maybe group hypnosis. Now they're doing Light and Day (the only song I know) with this psychadelic nature-themed music video. So weird.

I so should have named my Renaissance radio show Polyphonic Spree.

I'm now watching the documentary on the Old 97s CD I just got. I still don't understand Ken's mini-goatee-beard-thingy. And it seems like every time I've seen him live (which was once) or on TV (twice) in the last year he's been wearing the green 1UP mushroom shirt. And he has green 1UP wristbands. I still think he looks sorta looks like Flurie, although I think I see more Alex Braunstein in him, now that I think about it.

I don't believe Murray just used the phrase "Good Time Charlie-ing it," but given that Murray may be the worlds biggest nerd, it makes some sense.
