Jul. 20th, 2003 09:25 pmMeh. It's an update.

12 days and I get to go home. Yay.
Gen con this weekend. Should be lots of fun. Should be a terrible money sink. I should set a limit as to how many games I'm going to buy, but that's so not going to happen.
Been playing far too much Telephone oracle on IRC. Lemme know if you want me to drag you in next time.
For those of you not keeping score at home, I've upgraded to WinXP and Red Hat 9. I'm still getting used to Linux, but when I have used it, it's reminded me how much I miss the simple command-line interface of DOS.
Borders is a dangerous thing. I went there twice this week. Once, I went to buy a Richard Thompson CD (Rumor and Sigh), and ended up with that and the new John Hiatt (Beneath this Gruff Exterior) and the eastmountainsouth album. I went back yesterday to get a book on Linux and ended up with that plus the new Jack Johnson (On and On) plus two books about mars (Martian Chronicles, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep). Should keep me busy and out of trouble for a few days.
That's the problem with good books. They read themselves too quickly. I bought the last two books of the Dune prequel trilogy (having already bought and read the first one) before going home for July 4th, and finished them both within a week. Anyway, I've rambled far too much.
