The advent of a seriously active LJ community among my friends here at Swat have, at least for now, inspired a spark of hope within me that I can maintain mine. I think we all know this won't happen, but I'm going to try.

Resolutions:

# I will post here once a week. I know, there are people here who post several times a day, but one must start slowly.

# I will regularly post my radio show playlists. Just because I can.

# I will check my friends's LJs more than once a week.

# I will respond to comments left in my journal.

# I will uphold all of these resolutions for at least a month.

Okay, some thoughts from over the last few days.

The Jazz Band concert was a lot of fun. I'm not sure I want to hear any my solos ever again, but it was a good time. Thanks for coming [livejournal.com profile] ccommack. To the rest of you, you missed a good time.

Well, I was going to say more, but updating my friends page sapped the creative thread that had been going for a while. Maybe it will return.

I was there. It was great, except I don't understand why he put all those strange slow-moving vocal pieces back to back to back. And I liked the solos. Why do you play softer and more mellow than the other trumpet soloist?

I'm not sure why the set order was as it was. I think we (the big band) were a little shakey at the beginning because the small band set was so long, I can't remember it ever being that long.

Regarding my solo style, every one is different. I don't know why I'm softer and more mellow, that's just how I'm inclined to play. Clifford and Miles are both great trumpeters, but they're completely different players, and there's a time and a place for both.

No problem. You guys had a bunch of my favorite pieces in your set, (most of which got to be my favorite pieces by having played them in HS Jazz Band). Wouldn't have missed it.
